Last night I was a part of something incredible.

I went to the Set It Straight reunion benefit show for the Owls' friend Boots.
I can't remember if I've ever been to a hardcore show before; if I have, it's definitely been a really long time. When I think about it, it was really a wonderful thing. Even with the unknown drama I didn't live in, people came together to play and listen to good music in the purpose of helping a friend who lost his mama to cancer. It was emotional for me, just to be on the outside looking in. I'm pretty sure last night was the highlight of my whole, wonderful Spring Break.
Alix and I bought a little bottle of Captain Morgan and cokes and split the bottle in Shane's car before going into the sports venue where the show was going to be. She mixed them together, but I quickly drank the Captain Mo and it hit me later once we got inside. The boys sounded good and it was fun to see them on stage. The venue was great, the bar area was my favorite, and I love the people I bonded with.
Set It Straight was fun and everyone was pumped. Squire Room was also really fun, even when my tall can of Mickey's I snuck in was taken away.

They made 5000$. I'm so happy I was apart of something like that.

I need to visit my mom. Soon and much more often.
