Three cheers for summer being here, for me being an awesome shift whilst running off of one hour of sleep, and getting an A on an Italian final nobody took.
My days since my last post have been busy, long, and good.
Indiana Jones was awesome. I couldn't help how happy I got during the swordfighting scene when Shia Lebouf was being told to "riposte" and "disengage" and I knew exactly what those meant.
My poor days off involve me sleeping nearly all day and doing not much productive.
Saturday night was Joe's party, and though Annalise and I accidently arrived a bit later, we still had fun. It went differently than how I thought, which was good, and I drank a whole bottle of Malibu to myself. I was plastered. It was awesome. Cannot wait for the numerous summer parties here to come these next months. Part of the night envolved going to Howarth park, making a buddy named Jesus, and I think I peed in a bush. So much smoking was involved, and I was surprised my lungs weren't killing me the next morning. Though when I went to work the next day, I thought I was still slightly buzzed and my black polo had walked out on me...I still have no idea where it is. I did have many a good conversation, mostly with Michael, and I'm happy for Thirsty Thursday.
The past three nights have been so wonderful; I haven't slept in my own bed, though it is the best bed in the world.
Sunday I stayed the night at Annalise's, and we crashed on her couch, then last night after seeing 21 [which was AWESOME!] I slept at Joe's. We watched The Professional, a new favorite, and Robin Hood, an old favorite, and of course slept on the amazing couch.
Another update in my life:
My inner Egyptologist-obsession has come back. I bought a new book called Nefertiti, based on her life from her sister's perspective, and it's absolutely amazing. I want to take a history class in the fall on Egypt, but I think the closest I could get is Art History. But that's not what I want...I want it all. Already in the past two days I have spent hours at my computer learning the laws of Ma'at, what gods protected which bodily organs, and any other information I can get my hands on. I love it. I've missed the way Egypt captured my fascination as a child.
Last night Joe told me his plans and classes for Italy, and what his near future has in store for me. Honestly, and sadly, the only things I know I'll have are my violin and my fencing. I feel like I'll get shunned if I allow myself to stay at the JC for too long. I don't want to make lattes forever. Not even in the fall. I guess I should talk to a counselor; I have no idea what is needed for what degree, and what the degrees do, and what schools are good for what and...AAHH! It's constantly on my mind.
No matter Mary's doubts and "concerns" about my summer class, I'm still going to do it. Tomorrow Annalise and I, and maybe another girl, are going to the City, one of our stops shall be the American Fencers Supply, so I can look at some equipment. I get so happy just thinking of myself in a new, crisp white jacket, fresh mask, maybe a blue glove, and a shiny, untouched foil. I'll probably not get my equipment for a few weeks, but I do need to see what size I am. I cannot wait to meet Maestro Broushard...I almost want to say it'll be an honor. He's been to the Olympics, taken numerous teams there, and is in charge of the nationally-ranked North Bay Fencing Academy, which I'm hoping to study at this late summer/fall. I'm happy with the availbility I figured out for my work schedule, and everything should fit in nicely.
Though I have some future things to worry about, I like most of the things I'm doing and places I'm going.
Now I'll go read some more, and then sleep for tomorrow shall be an awesome long day.
